Used Arcade Game - Building A Game Room Inexpensively
When looking for a used arcade game of any kind, there are several places you can shop to get the best deal. Whether you're looking for a new or used pinball machine, you'll always want to comparison shop in a variety of places.
Of course, one place to look for pinball machines is directly through the manufacturers. You can find contact information for the manufacturers by doing a web search. Be aware, however, of the downside to buying brand new arcade games in this manner. Since they typically sell through distributors who buy in bulk, they will almost always charge you full list price and therefore will be more expensive than any other source.
You could also buy a pinball machine used. This has the advantage of reducing your price, but keep in mind that the machine probably won't have a warranty either to insure it remains in working order. Still, most pinball machines don't require a huge amount of maintenance, so just because you bought an older machine does not insure that a lot of costly work will have to be done.
Flea markets are yet another oft untapped source for these games. Finding them at flea markets isn't unheard of. Usually, they'll be located near an electrical plug so you can try it out before you take it home. This buying strategy can help you obtain a really great deal on a high quality machine.
You can also find some wonderful and collectible antique pinball machines if you know where to look. You might find these at an estate sale or an antique shop, fair, or live collectibles auction. Be careful though. These might be more expensive as they will be considered collector's items. You'll also want to make sure to take a close peek at them to be sure they're in working order. In fact, if electricity is available, request permission to play it right there. If they balk at your request, that might be a clue to a known problem with the machine.
Another good place to find pinball machines is websites devoted to selling them online. You can buy them outright, or through online auction sites. The benefit of buying them this way includes potential bargains, opportunities for research, and opportunities to talk to the seller directly about the item's features, or searching easily for one that has the features you want. Downsides include inability to try out the machine firsthand and potential shipping charges. Also, be sure to ask about the seller's return policy, or you may find yourself stuck with a pinball machine you didn't actually want or one that does not work.
If you've been considering adding a new machine to your home entertainment, there are numerous places to find great deals. You should be able to find the perfect addition to make all of your friends and neighbors green with envy!
